Sorry for the lack of updates! I’ve started a new, photo-only blog for my modeling photos.
You can look at it here: http://ellelong.tumblr.com/

All photos were taken using the Polaroid OneStep 600 (given to me by photominimal.) and expired films (2005/2007).
*I’ve just noticed the dog hair on every scan. Sorry. The future may hold a re-do but, eh…probably not.

Stay Hungry (Dir. Bob Rafelson, USA, 1976) – 35mm – Belcourt Theatre: Visions of the South + 2nd viewing on DVD
My absolute favorite of the month. I love Jeff Bridges anyway and watching this film, I was really stricken by the resemblance (both family and character) between this Jeff and brother Beau in Hal Ashby’s The Landlord (1970). Both are great explorations of class integration and problems of the times. Stay Hungry uses a lot of humor (particularly, a tense moment broken by a gaggle of muscle men running around and flexing in downtown Birmingham traffic) and it’s the first time I’ve ever thought Arnold Schwartzenegger was cute. He’s actually a really great actor! Oh, and Sally Field…sigh. Very well cast.
Born to Kill <<Cockfighter>> (Dir. Monte Hellman, USA, 1974) – 35mm – Belcourt Theatre: Visions of the South
Poetry <<Shi>> (Dir. Chang-Dong Lee, Korea, 2010) – 35mm – Belcourt Theatre
Really good. Wanted to see this at Telluride last year but didn’t get the chance.
Better Than Something: Jay Reatard (Dirs Alex Hammond and Ian Marciewicz, USA, 2010) – digital projection – Nashville Film Festival at Regal Green Hills
Música Campesina <<Country Music>> (Dir. Alberto Fuguet, USA/Chile, 2011) – digital projection – Nashville Film Festival at Regal Green Hills
I’m in this movie! This was the American Premiere and my first viewing and I was pleasantly surprised both with the film in general and by my performance. I had been sweating that scene for a whole year and as it turns out, I did fine (if I do say so myself). You can read more in earlier posts: Goodness. and Musica Campesina
The Sleeping Beauty <<La belle endormie>> (Dir. Catherine Breillot, France, 2010) – digital projection – Nashville Film Festival at Regal Green Hills
Jess + Moss (Dir. Clay Jeter, USA, 2011) – Nashville Film Festival at Regal Green Hills
My favorite of the fest. Shot entirely on expired film stock. Really beautiful.
Septien (Dir. Michael Tully, USA, 2011) – digital projection – Nashville Film Festival at Regal Green Hills
Terri (Dir. Azazel Jacobs, USA, 2011) – Nashville Film Festival at Regal Green Hills
*Desperate Living (Dir. John Waters, USA, 1977) – digital projection – BoomBoomMcBroom back deck cinema —partial viewing on account of the rain—
Bill Cunningham, New York (Dir. Richard Press, USA, 2010) – digital projection – Belcourt Theatre
Performance (Dirs Donald Cammell and Nicolas Roeg, UK, 1970) – 16mm – Toby’s basement cinema, Tom Wills’ collection
Rubber (Dir. Quentin Depieux, France/Angola, 2010) – 35mm – Belcourt Theatre: Midnight Movies
Just nuts.

I am in a movie. Told you about it a year ago.
The North American Premiere is happening this weekend at Nashville Film Festival:
Musica Campesina (Alberto Fuguet, Chile / USA)
Alejandro Tazo, a 30-something Chilean musician arrives in Nashville on a Greyhound bus. He has little to his name, seemingly no mission, seemingly no goals. What will he make of his new life in Music City? Director Alberto Fuguet shot “Musica Campesina” while serving as a visiting professor at Vanderbilt. NORTH AMERICAN PREMIERESun, Apr 17, 5:00pm
I’m nervous! I don’t know how it’s gonna be but I have an IMDb page now…
